INSPIRATION:
1. What inspired you for making the Designer Dog House?
I was inspired by the inclusive nature of HelpUsAdopt.org. I believe that everyone deserves to be part of and have a family. Working with so many families, painting members of their family, and meeting people, I know that family is what matters, no matter what it looks like, or how you build it.
2. What is unique about your Designer Dog House?
I wanted to give the lucky dog winner the chance to go inside a three-dimensional version of my painting. The Dog House has the large graphic style pattern that I usually paint in my paintings on the outside, and I have also painted in the floor to mimic a wooden floor along with a base board. This dog house is bright, energetic and bold.
3. About Jay:
Jay was born and raised in Arkansas and grew up with the southern mentality of working hard, being kind and taking pride in what he does. Jay gets much inspiration from his artist father and artist grandmother. In 2006, Jay re-located to Philadelphia for graduate school at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He has remained in Philadelphia and built relationships with many families in Philadelphia and the Main Line through his commission work over the past decade. Jay is a creative visionary who works hard to implement the ideas he has. Simply put, Jay is unstoppable.
